Steering and engines
Boys good news on the specs for the steering and engines
I M P O R T A N T
** MUV using Lithium Ion rechargable cells.
** I would love to have the engines inside the wheel, but havnt found alot of info in regards to the specifics. Simon wants specifics, and i have found two examples of suitable electric propulsion systems.
** i propose we mount two engines in the chassis (driver sits on top of battery cells)
hub mounted motors, hydraulic steering,
It may be innovative, no physical linkage means more space but hub mounted engines make changing tyres difficult. Keeping it simple means using existing rime for our tyre. Also hydraulic steering takes up floor space for pumps etc... a electric steering system (still steer by wire)is more practical and robust.
Hydraulic steering will need either big pumps or use alot of power to push pull wheels, a complex system. Easier to use a tried and tested electric/motor assisted steering, plus it runs directly of the fuel cells, PTO uses rear shaft engaged only when needed with a clutch. Simple
