yup, again more time...

Dudes, i need more time, i am struggling, it is taking longer than expected due to the need for accurate dimensions, eg cabin space, tray size, wheel size and ground clearance.

i realise we need cad, can it be assigned more time... ?

** also out of interest, i have taken the back seat out of my echo' i now have a true "mini-van" so much storage space in such a little package... plus, just recently opel (holden uk) released the "corsavan" pretty much the same as my echo except it is a truly dedicated "mini-van" (plus it looks hot)

if there was a need for a larger agri vehicle, could this be the answer?
the next gen MUV... just a cool thought.

apologies

Entry Solved!

What do you guys reckon of entering like this?

The MUV will look pretty much like this, less like a modern piece of agricultural equipment and more like a contemporary electric farming vehicle.

Entry

I am not sure what is the best way to enter through the front...

- an entire canopy (window included) that swings up
- just the "door-window" that swings up
or
- a two piece door, parted midway... one half swings up and one down...

Feedback / Replies

Hey boys! Wow great work everyone i reckon theres alot of good stuff going on between us as a group!

In response to the multiple comments i will address them here:

D A N
We'll try to get basic cad done, simply form, size, "how it fits in"
1. this will be great for our pres.
2. it will give us a heads up on cad

Your designs are allways great, if you wanted to work on the trolley/cart that would be terrific!

**
- i will be sketching the MUV redesign, and post it
- i will do the MUV in rhino

R O B B I E
Getting heads up on the model sounds really really good, Dan and I are in the workshop on mondays for jewellery design, I will come in early (morning) and will remain there until 6'ish or whenever the workshop closes.
- i will bring in sketches to help...

A L S O
*The Fuel cell is under the drivers seat
* I will try to resolve the MUV as much as possible before we next meet.
* Good luck guys!
* i reckon our model will be awesome!

Model (Final)

Do we want a challenge?
Can we produce a model of this quality...

picture: next gen audi quattro
year: Pforzheim University Summer Degree Show 2002
designer: Raul Cenan
web: http://archive.cardesignnews.com/features/2002/020830pforzheim-show/index.html

Fuel Cell Location

Ive been doing a bit of drawing today and i think that the fuel cells should be accessed from under the drivers seat and not through the rear or sides, thus there is no need for additional panels and they are in a sealed environment.

Scale M.U.V

Here are two sketches done to scale.
If you guys have any feedback, suggestions do let me know (post in comments) and i will address any concerns.

In skecthing the MUV i can also sketch the chassis (with mounting points, etc) as well as clearly identify "free spaces"

Scottie your idea of "two pieces" snapping together seem highly relevant now! dude how about a aluminium chassis (light that does not corrode) with fibre/hemp bodywork!
>> Light and inexpensive!

06.09.06 (W7) Class Discussion

Well done guys.
Below is a list of items to address (design requirements) regarding the design of our magnificent Agri Ev.

: : ROBBIE : :
**Robbie, hope you get better mate’

- We are still working on a narrow track Agri-Ev
- There is a front drive engine/tractor… think of a mini quad that pulls canoes on wheels…

Engine / Tractor
- two person capacity
- robust under carriage
>> “beds and furrows”
- as light as possible (buoyant)
- maintenance free
- small to medium in size
- purely functional
- easy to read instrumentation
- easy to use controls
- used for pulling
- independent suspension
- weatherproof
>> “urban street sweeper”
- P.T.O a separate motor
- Spare tyre / or no need at all… e.g. Michelin Tweel

Used for:
- transportation of produce
- used like a tractor
>> able to retrofit numerous farming tools (graders, augers, bores, etc..)
- P.T.O for local farming community
- Power generation…

Cart / Trolley
- Tilting solar cell roof
- Small and large variations
- Transportation for produce, therefore modular and adaptable
- Lightweight
- Can be shelter for vehicle
- Refuge
- Can be converted into a basic four legged tent with pegs.

Used for:
- modular, converts from a number of trolley’s into a temporary market stall
- lunch shelter, used in the sun or rain
- can keep produce fresh, encourage air circulation
